Bump Update: 32 Weeks

Dress:Rachel Pally

Holy cow!!! Where in the world did the time go? Can’t believe I’m already in my last trimester and this little peanut will be here in less than two months!!!

How Far Along: 32 weeks and four days!!! I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone by. It truly feels like yesterday I was in the doctors office receiving the most exciting news.

Due Date: September 4th (Labor Day haha) I really hope baby comes on labor day I just think its hilarious.

Size of Baby: Depending on which baby app; baby is either the size of a squash or a Florida pomelo (whatever that is haha). Weighing about 4 pounds!

Gender: Boy! Can’t wait to meet this little man! Hoping he looks just like daddy!

Name: Were still a bit indecisive on his name. Theres one in particular that stands out for my husband but were still not 100% sure. I’m still thinking of finding a few agreeable names and deciding once he gets here.

Movement: This is my first pregnancy so I’m not sure if the amount of movement is any indication of how this little guy will react once he’s here but this kid is nuts! He’s constantly kicking, hitting and dancing away in my belly! I think I’ve got my hands full with this one haha!

Cravings: Still no specific food cravings (waiting on a weird one or just any specific type of craving for that matter), however I have a serious sent craving. Not sure if thats a thing but I cannot get enough of organic lavender essential oils. I’ve always loved the smell of lavender (I’m super sensitive to anything strong or fruity so I tend to gravitate to light refreshing scents and lavender has always been a favorite of mine). However, this is what my husband calls an obsession! I literally rub organic lavender oil on my neck and wrist and call it my “perfume” haha. I sniff it straight out of the bottle and put a dab under my nose, sprinkle it on my pillow and I’ve even put a dab on the back of my dogs’ neck (which my chihuahua hatted, oops). Because my eye lashes have fallen out so drastically during this pregnancy I’ve even incorporated lavender oil into my mascara and a DIY organic eye lash lengthening serum since it has natural hair strengthening properties. I truly can’t get enough, I told my husband we should bring the oil to the hospital when its time for delivery so I can sprinkle it around the room and on my pillow just to give a little comfort during labor. He literally laughed out loud and told me lavender was the last thing I will be thinking of. He just might be right but its one of the only things I think about right now (haha j/k).

Have you started to show: Yes! I finally popped right after the fourth of July! Still carrying pretty small, if I wear something lose it looks like I just ate a big lunch haha!

Body Changes: First the belly, it seems to get a little bigger everyday haha or at least it feels that way. I’ve been religious with body lotions and oils to prevent stretch marks thus far; my favorites are this lotion for everyday use (I use it every morning) this oil is probably my favorite it smells heavenly and almost spa like and I recently picked up this oil at Trader Joe’s and alternate it with my other oil at night before bed. Lastly, I’ve tried this Honest Company balm and it worked very nicely also, however it’s a bit sticky and at the time time I wasn’t showing much I would probably incorporate this balm later in pregnancy when you really feel your stomach stretching. Second, my overall body seems to be going through so many changes, sometimes I look in the mirror and think wow, how did my shape change so much. Its incredible what our bodies are capable of, now just wondering if it will be as easy to go back to my natural pre pregnancy state haha.

Pressures or Pains:Yes, I still have pressure and cramping. Last week the cramping was quite strong I was at a store with my mom and mother-in-law and we had to leave and sit down at a near by Starbucks. The cramps didn’t stop so my mom took me home and I laid down for a bit and they got much better. However, yesterday I went in to my Dr. office to check baby since I was experiencing a sharp pain that was localized in one spot just left of my belly button. Baby looked fine, however they weren’t sure as to what was causing the pain so I just have to pay attention that it doesn’t worsen.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Restless leg syndrome!!! Argh this is the most annoying symptom I have experienced through out pregnancy and the most consistent. I try to walk my dogs and take a hot shower before bed, but honestly I don’t really think anything helps but I like to think it does and most recently acid reflex, which I haven’t experienced since I had my gallbladder removed years ago. A bit annoying but much easier to control with a Pepcid than the darn restless legs!

Maternity Clothes: I’m a big believer in working with what you’ve got and have been fortunate to be in my non maternity clothes still. However, I do need to find a good pair of maternity jeans (which seems to be so darn hard for me) and if I decide to purchase something I try to make sure I’m able to wear it post baby or something that I will like and will be relevant and functional when I have a second child.

Looking forward too: My husband and I have our first baby care class next week and I cannot wait to see him participate in all the baby basic stuff. Also my 33 week ultrasound and growth measurement is next week, I cannot wait to see my little guy on the screen!

Baby Shower: Yes! One of my best friends threw my husband and I, with the help of my mama the most beautiful shower last weekend. It was truly magical, and such a special, beautiful day that I’ll cherish forever (post coming soon).

To do List:

Preregister for hospital

Start gathering essentials for hospital bag and babies bag

Pick out nursery furniture

Pick up items on list from antique store (really want an antique high chair…I love the look of the old wooden ones I’m just not a fan of the plastic chairs now days) and find a vintage basket bassinet.

Drawer organizers for babies dresser (Ikea)

Our new house is finally starting renovation this week and I cannot wait to start decorating the babies nursery although I know thats definitely quite a ways from now.

  • Ahhh you’re getting so close! LOL at the baby possibly being born on Labor Day – that would be amazing! I never had any strange cravings either, and wore all non-maternity clothes as I also was of the thought of work with what you’ve already got. Flowy dresses, high waisted yoga pants/leggings, and the belly band were my best friends. Hang in there girl, you’re almost there <3
